Plenty of Pasta at Pagani

Plenty of Pasta at Pagani

Last week, I got to try a few dishes at cozy West Village Italian restaurant Pagani. I started with a drink, the Freewheelin’—a gin-based cocktail featuring Saint Germain, peach puree, grapefruit and lemon. It also contains bitters that keep it from tasting overly fruity.

I sampled three of the restaurant’s pastas: a meaty variety, another with mushrooms and my favorite type of pasta: gnocchi. Pagani’s gnocchi is soft and creamy, but speckled with crunchy walnuts for an interesting texture combination. Alongside these standout pastas, Pagani serves interesting starters and sides like grilled watermelon, arancini and polenta fries. Their full menu is available until closing time, making it a great option for a late night snack. For more information, visit paganinyc.com.
