New Bar Alert: Kings County Saloon Opens Tomorrow in Bushwick

Tomorrow, Kings County Saloon (1 Knickerbocker Ave., btw Johnson Ave. & Ingraham, St., 347.987.4751) enters the Bushwick, Brooklyn bar scene as a re-launch of the now-closed Kings County Bar. The revamped version of the popular watering hole is housed in a building, which, prior to World War II, was home to a cabaret and saloon. Paneled walls, reclaimed wood, custom light fixtures and tile work give a “speakeasy meets industrial” vibe to the historic space. Toted as the “ultimate beer and shot bar”—offering no frills, just fun—the establishment boasts wallet-friendly deals like a can of Busch beer and a well shot for $5 all day. High-end whiskeys and craft beers are also available, as well as a specialty drink featured each season. On the food front, patrons can enjoy melted ham and cheese bites served with house-made mustard; Buffalo-style wings; a ground brisket and beef short rib burger stuffed with sharp New York cheddar cheese and more. Top it all off with homemade ice cream sandwiches—with alcohol flavored ice cream, naturally.
