There's a great Yunnanese noodle shop in the East Village called Little Tong Noodle Shop that has New Yorkers abuzz about mixian rice noodles—a type of rice noodle from the Yunnan Province, China. This past week it launched a new fall menu available for lunch and dinner. Available now, the seasonal menu features new “little eats” like brussels sprouts stir fry with homemade spiced pork sausage and Dali street taters with spiced purple potatoes roasted in duck fat and topped with Beecher’s cheese curds.

Little Tong Noodle Shop 28-seat restaurant run by Chef Simone Tong, pays homage to the beautiful Chinese province of Yunnan, offering savory, flavorful dishes, as well as small plates showcasing local, seasonal ingredients, house-made pickles and specially crafted condiments and sauces inspired by the villages and multi-ethnic regions of southwest China. Each dish displays a spectrum of colors—warm, flavor-packed and built from combinations of broth, meats, vegetables, herbs and house-made condiments.

To contrast the spice, end the meal with the Milk Tea Crème Brûlée infused with earthy pu'er tea. A topping of tea-marinated pears and basil tips adds a hint of freshness and acidity to this light and balanced dessert.

Little Tong Noodle Shop is open Tues- Sun. for lunch from 11:30 am-2:30 pm and for dinner from 5:30-11 pm.
