Last week, I went to an event atScarlatto Italian Restaurant—a great Midtown eatery that specializes in Roman-style Italian cuisine. Located in the heart of the Theater District, Scarlatto is the perfect place to grab a meal before or after a show. The welcoming, open space exudes Old World charm, with a rustic wooden floor, tables dressed in crisp white tablecloths and surrounded by plush chairs, and brick walls displaying wine, pots and pans, decorative plates, stills from the famous Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck flick Roman Holiday, and photos of Italian celebrities. I got a chance to sample some of the cuisine, and it was delectable. I especially loved the goat cheese tortellini and melon-wrapped prosciutto. If you’re looking for great Italian cuisine in Midtown, check out Scarlatto.
