Friday, February 9th is National Bagel and Lox Day! Acme Smoked Fish Corp.—the country’s leading smoked fish purveyor – is teaming up with NYC’s favorite bagel maker, Zucker’s Bagels, in an attempt to make the largest bagel and lox sandwich ever recorded.  On Friday, Acme will host a public event at their Brooklyn facility where Adam Caslow, co-CEO of Acme and Matt Pomerantz, founder of Zucker’s, will make a giant sandwich before a crowd.

The sandwich will be carefully constructed and weighed—for Guinness record-breaking purposes—before it is cut and distributed to the crowd.  It will follow the Zucker’s traditional sandwich recipe, with an oversized everything bagel, cream cheese, Acme’s Nova Scotia smoked salmon, tomatoes, red onions and capers.

Zucker’s Bagels is New York City’s quintessential neighborhood bagel shop with locations in TriBeca, Midtown, the Upper West Side, and soon opening in the Flatiron district.  The shop was voted #1 Best Bagel + Lox in New York City by USA Today.  Zucker’s makes authentic bagels the old-fashioned way, by hand-rolling and kettle-boiling, and using only natural ingredients including unbleached flours and sweetening with malt.

Based in Brooklyn, Acme Smoked Fish Corp. is a fourth-generation, family-owned company and the country’s leading smoked fish purveyor.  Since the company’s beginning in the early 1900s, Acme has been committed to providing the highest quality of seafood specialties in an expanding number of varieties, from customer favorites like smoked Nova, pickled Herring and Whitefish salad to innovative new products like salmon jerky and ready-to-eat poke bowls.

Stop in on February 9th and see if a new world record is achieved, and enjoy some free bagels and lox! The event will be taking place during Acme’s regular Fish Friday outlet at the Greenpoint production facility.
