David Burke fabrick Opens at Archer Hotel

David Burke’s fifth NYC restaurant fabrick opened last week at Archer Hotel New York. With a menu that draws from a variety of cultures’ cuisines, the restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner—plus weekend brunch.

The name fabrick comes from the Latin word for “artisan,” but it’s also a reference to the restaurant’s Garment District neighborhood. When I visited for its grand opening, I also noticed another nod to the name: a colorful quilt covering a portion of the dining room’s high ceiling.

A few months ago, I got a try a few hors d’oeuvres at an event catered by David Burke Group and the selection at fabrick was just as creative. My friend and I drooled over their candied bacon, which was served on a miniature clothesline complete with clothespins holding each piece. We also enjoyed cheeseburger sliders and chicken paté atop crunchy crostini. Though the menu at their opening event was mostly meat-heavy, there were also a number of vegetarian options, including vegan sushi.
