Cozy Italian Dining in Midtown at Daniela Trattoria

Located among the hubbub of Manhattan’s Theater District, Daniela Trattoria is a refreshingly calm escape from the throngs of tourists on Eighth Avenue. The cozy Italian restaurant serves a delicious assortment of food from breakfast through dinner and offers a wine list that features red and white sangria. Upstairs, Daniela boasts a private party room—complete with a small bar and extra restrooms—that can accommodate up to 70 people.

Last week, I visited Daniela for wine and hors d’oeuvres. I tried their white sangria, which was a little tangy, a little sweet and topped with plenty of fruit. Their food—including saucy meatballs and crispy, fried mushrooms—was even more impressive. From what I tried, my favorite part was their sausage pizza. While you can find pizza on most Midtown blocks, Daniela’s version featured smaller slices with bigger flavor and bigger slivers of sausage. Check out their full menu at danielarestaurant.com.
