New York City steak houses are legendary, and one of my favorites is Benjamin Steakhousein Midtown East. I had the opportunity to dine at the restaurant for a work event last year, and the establishment exudes “Old New York” as soon as you enter. Polished wood embellishments are found throughout the large dining room, which is full of intimate tables dressed in crisp, white linens. The main focal point, however, is a grand fireplace—a cozy feature during the cold winter months. I sat in the mezzanine level and enjoyed one of the most succulent steaks I’ve ever tasted, which was no surprise considering this famed restaurant is headed by Peter Luger Steak House alumni Chef Arturo McLeod and Benjamin Prelvukaj. The extensive menu also includes seafood dishes, hearty sides and delectable desserts. Benjamin Steakhouse also has a location in Westchester.
