Authentic Brazilian Meat at Churrascaria Plataforma

For nearly twenty years, Churrascaria Plataforma has served Midtown diners an all-you-can-eat amount of authentic Brazilian meat. The steakhouse’s meat selection includes beef, pork, lamb, chicken and turkey and comes sliced on skewers as soon as you’re ready for it—just flip your coaster from red to green to signal the wait staff that you’re ready for your main course. Waiters will also bring side dishes to your table, which are served family style. Vegetarians can still enjoy all that Churrascaria has to offer at their extensive salad bar, which sits in the center of their large dining room.

Recently, I visited the restaurant for an event to try a variety of hors d’oeuvres. Roast beef served on a cheese-infused bread, miniature meatballs and fried shrimp were available for carnivores, but I enjoyed their vegetarian options even more as they involved plenty of cheese. First came mascarpone cheese and sundried tomato tarts, then empanadas oozing with cheesy filling. Next, my favorite: cheese bread, soft and doughy bites reminiscent of cream puffs, but with a savory flavor instead of sweet.
