It's National drink wine day on Sunday! I definitely don't need a reason to pop open a great bottle red (or two,) I also never shy from some great celebratory alcohol discounts. Here are six great spots around the city that are doing a something special for this Bacchanal. So grab your crew, get out there and start early!

Slate located in the flatiron is offering BOGO free wine by the glass all day on National Wine Day.  Enjoy 16,000 sq. ft. of space and play ping pong, pool, foosball or oversized Jenga while sipping the night away.

Steps from Chelsea Market, Bagatelle is offering 50% off select wine and champagne bottles and 30% off bottles over $500 this Sunday. For those who would prefer to bring their own bottles, Bagatelle will welcome outside wines at no cost or corkage fee.

If you happen to be near Rockefeller Center, stop into Nerai offering half off all wines by the glass and bottle so for one night only, pop bottles you would have never have dreamed of buying at full price with everything in the restaurant half off to celebrate the occasion. That sounds like a win-win.

Usually closed on Sundays, Greenwich Steakhouse refuses to miss out the celebration by offering discounts on select house wine now until Friday, February 16. They are serving $9 glasses/ $59 bottles of their Judson Hale Winery 2012 Chardonnay and $8 glasses/ $39 bottles of Aymara Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon for the entire weekend.

The Theater DIstrict's Kellari is going premium. Make a night of it with 50% off on select premium bottles of wine, which are normally priced $100 and up. They may even convince you to join their exclusive wine club.

For the more low-key traveler and Pinot-lover, on Sunday, cozy up to the bar or grab a table at Guyer's on the Upper West Side for a $6 glass of owner Cindy Guyer's favorite Pinot Noir, which would normally cost $16. For more information call 212.877.8090.

Whatever you choose to do this weekend, take advantage of this VERY important National food holiday and while taking in the sights in NYC!
