Face Mapping at Dermalogica

Face Mapping at Dermalogica

Earlier this week, I had my face mapped at the Soho location of Dermalogica, a skin care company with a full line of products and a handful of concept spaces. Face mapping is complimentary and in about 5-10 minutes, a skin therapist will determine the best treatment for your unique skin type. Afterward, you’re free to purchase the products suggested or peruse Dermalogica’s selection of cleansers, toners, moisturizers, masques and more for yourself.

Prior to analysis, I knew I had fairly dry skin and a few spots that are prone to breakouts. My skin therapist, Micole, explained a whole lot more. I learned that my cheeks (zones 5 and 9) are sensitive and should be washed more lightly, while I should be sure to target blackheads on my forehead (zones 1 and 3) and in the area around my nose (zone 7) with exfoliation a few times each week. After the mapping, Micole showed me which products to use for cleaner, clearer skin.

Dermalogica suggests that to increase effectiveness, clients receive a face mapping every 4-6 weeks so you can adjust your routine if necessary. Other services are available by appointment to target specific areas or concerns. Find out more at dermalogica.com.
