Where better to cool off during NYC’s first big heatwave of the summer than a bar made out of ice?

At minus5° Ice Bar, the walls, furniture and sculptures are all ice, creating a perfect hideaway from the sweltering temperatures outdoors. The space is kept a cold minus five degrees Celsius (23 degrees Fahrenheit), so you won’t be left sweating.

You won’t freeze either, though. Guests are given parkas and gloves to keep covered while they lounge on faux fur pelt-covered ice seating and sip their vodka in the rocks. (Yes, signature cocktails and mocktails are served in glasses made of ice.)

In addition to the cool surroundings and refreshing beverages, minus5° also features a state-of-the-art sound and LED show.

Beat the heat—minus5° is located at the New York Hilton in Midtown at 1335 Avenue of the Americas.
