Newark is gearing up for the Super Bowl with several events leading up to game day, including: Jan. 28, Super Bowl XLVIII Media Day (Prudential Center), Newark’s largest Indoor Tailgating Party (Newark Museum), Super Celebration of Jazz Saxophones—including Kenny Garrett Quintet (Rutgers Newark), Pixies and Fidlar (New Jersey Performing Arts Center); Jan. 29, Seton Hall Men's Basketball—Seton Hall vs. Butler (Prudential Center), WBGO’s free Jazz Concert featuring Cecil Brooks, CBIII Band & Hot D.O.G. (Gateway 2); Jan. 30, Hezekiah Walker & Friends, starring Marvin Sapp (New Jersey Performing Arts Center); Jan. 31, An Evening with Chris Tucker & Friends (New Jersey Performing Arts Center), McDonald’s Gospel Super Choir (Newark Symphony Hall), ; Feb. 1, Shaq’s All Star Comedy Jam (Newark Symphony Hall), UFC® 169 Faber vs. Barao (Prudential Center), Chinese New Year Celebration & Parade (Newark Museum), and LeBron James and Rick Ross Super Bowl Party (Robert Treat Hotel).
