Sure, salad is great, but during the chillier months chowing down on some of the city’s comfort food is a worthwhile way to stay warm. “What I love about New York dining is that you have so many choices,” exclaims Briana Davis, Chef Concierge at SIXTY SoHo (60 Thompson St., 1.877.431.0400)—a position she’s held for the past eight months. “I have lived in New York for 15 years and I love knowing I still haven't been to every restaurant. I love food.” Here, she recommends her top three restaurants for a hearty meal.

B&B Winepub, also known as Burger and Barrel, is so freaking good,” Davis says. “The burgers are absolutely amazing. My go-to spot for groups of six to 10 is the prime rib dinner at B&B, considered one of the city’s best.” The minds behind this market-driven SoHo eatery will open a new Italian restaurant at SIXTY SoHo in early 2015.

Fans of pie and milkshakes can get their fix of both at Bubby's—with locations in TriBeCa and near the High Line elevated park—where the creative staff transforms the restaurant’s mouthwatering pies into milkshake form. “Try the pumpkin pie,” Davis suggests. “I go there for that Sunday comfort feel; when you just want to eat some good food in the winter with friends and pass out by 6 p.m.”

Bobwhite Lunch & Supper Counter boasts finger lickin’ fried chicken, catfish, pimento cheese sandwiches and plenty of hearty sides. “This place is so good, and, when I am done with work on Saturdays, I head over to Alphabet City to eat there,” she says.
