What’s the flavor of the month this May? Over at the Grand Central Oyster Bar, the Cape May salt oyster is. The bar named this mild, clean-tasting oyster “bivalve of the month,” and they will be served throughout the month in a variety of ways. Happy Hour prices are swimmingly fine: 4 oysters for $6.95, $1.25 per freshly shucked oyster. Something I bet you didn’t know: Cape May salt oysters are grown along the Delaware Bay Cape Shore, and acquired kudos in both the Philadelphia Inquirer and The Wall Street Journal. Being a raw bar fan, I am watching the clock to make sure I hit the Oyster Bar before the end of the month. You should, too.
