Reboot Your Happy Hour Game With These Hot Spots

Happy hour is the best way to kick off a fun night out in NYC. With tons of bars and lounges on every corner, it can be hard to figure out where to start. Here are seven options all over the city that you can pop into for a couple rounds of cheap (but strong) drinks and bar bites. Enjoy!


Sugar Momma (Financial District)

Reverse speakeasy Sugar Momma is one of the sexiest dining and cocktail destination downtown. Coffee shop by day, the intimate space turns up in the evening with hip hop music, red lights and delicious small bites. Check out the happy hour specials offered Tuesday through Saturday from 6-7 pm which includes $1 dumplings, $5 beers, $7 wines and $8 cocktails.


Clinton Hall (Brooklyn)

Clinton Hall's happy hour in Williamsburg spans eight hours from 11 am-7 pm every weekday to help beat the grind. Happy hour features $6 well drinks and beer such as Bitburger, Erdinger, Schofferhofer and Gigawatt IPA. Well drinks and house wines are $7 and the buffalo cauliflower, crispy chicken wings and giant soft pretzels are $8. Additionally this SUPERCRAFT beer hall's Midtown East location in the Pod 51 Hotel (230 E 51st St) offers up happy hour specials on weekdays from 3-7 pm including beers Erdinger, Bitburger and Walker Easy Jack for $6, Margaritas, seasonal and special cocktails for $7 and a glass of house red or white wine for $8.  


Bell Book & Candle (West Village)

The basement-set American eatery in the West Village, Bell Book & Candle, gets most of the produce for its seasonal fare from a roof garden. Escape the cold during happy hour Sunday through Friday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Signature cocktails are $4 off, house white and red wine is $6, and all draft beers are $5. And the best part? Oysters at the bar are only $1.


Chat n' Chew ( Union Square)

The classic comfort food joint in Union Square, Chat n' Chew has happy hour deals Monday - Friday from 3 pm - 6:30 pm featuring select beers for $6, wine for $7 and hand-crafted specialty cocktails for $8. More information can be found by visiting:


Haven Rooftop (Midtown)

Enclosed and heated for the winter with guaranteed snow atop The Sanctuary Hotel, this ski chalet style winter city escape has a happy hour from 4-6pm Monday-Friday with specials like $10 Margaritas, $6 select beers as well as select wine & prosecco.


FREEHOLD (Brooklyn)

This Brooklyn hotel without hotel rooms hosts a happy hour with a $6 martini happy hour Monday-Friday from 5-8 pm.


Schimanski (Brooklyn)

Brooklyn's Schimanski hosts a late night happy hour Friday and Saturday evenings from 9-11 pm offering $5 beer, $6 well drinks, $7 beer and shot combo and $8 frozen drinks.
