The world’s most famous ice rink, The Rink at Rockefeller Center, will officially re-open on Saturday, October 12th for its 83rd season. Continuing its time-honored tradition as the first New York City rink to open each year, the opening signifies the official start of winter festivities around the city.

Originally designed as a temporary attraction to draw visitors to Rockefeller Center’s outdoor “sunken plaza” in 1936, The Rink became a permanent fixture in 1939. Throughout the preceding decades, it evolved into one of the city’s most legendary landmarks and one of the top visited sites in Manhattan, hosting more than a quarter of a million skaters annually.

So kick off the holiday season and visit Bryant Park and the famous rink this weekend between 8:30 am- midnight.
