Drinks, Snacks and a Great View at The Skylark

Last week, I got to check out the grand opening of Midtown lounge The Skylark’s new rooftop deck. Perched high above Times Square, the deck offers great views of Manhattan and a quiet escape from the crowded streets below. For the grand opening event, the venue offered a few options from their varied menu of “savory bites” and plenty of unique cocktails.

One of my favorites was a miniature lobster taco, paired with poblano salsa and avocado crema for an interesting twist on the summery seafood. I also enjoyed their signature Skylark beef sliders, which came with onion jam, gorgonzola cheese and arugula: a fresh take on the American-cheese- and lettuce-topped burger. Though, if you prefer a plain patty, they also offer a Classic slider with house-made ketchup.

For drinks, my friend and I ordered The Skylark—a mix of gin, vodka, St Germain liqueur, lemon and cherry that’s tinted to match the sky with Blue Curacao—and a Lolita—fizzy coco-lime soda with passion fruit puree and Leblon Cachaça. Many of their cocktails are also available in pitchers that serve five.
