Waffles are one of my favorite foods and waffle sandwiches from Waffle & Wolf just make a good food even better. When I first heard that there was a place in Williamsburg where you could get a walnut-filled waffle folded around Granny Smith apples, goat cheese and honey, I almost immediately got on a train to try them. The tart, crunchy apples mixed with creamy cheese and sweet honey made it one of the greatest and weirdest sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. And there's more where that came from: other popular combinations include a jalapeno waffle filled with chicken, avocado and salsa and a bacon waffle topped with peanut butter, banana and caramel. Waffle & Wolf's nondescript shop may be hard to find, but the tasty reward is worth the search. For more information, visit waffleandwolf.com.
