Seasonal Selections at Drexler’s

Seasonal Selections at Drexler’s

The East Village is teeming with watering holes, and it just got a new one late this summer in the form of Drexler’s.

The two-story newcomer evokes a casual, “everybody knows your name” feel thanks to homey touches such as rustic, whitewashed ceilings, wrought iron and walnut accents, exposed brick walls and custom-built lighting. The quirkiness of the East Village comes into play with the venue’s choice of kooky coolers—think vintage, cast-iron bathtubs, mounted prominently behind the 35-foot bar, repurposed and filled with cold beers The unconventional décor extends to the cellar, which features a walnut bar, raised wood ceilings, custom hammered iron tap handles, repurposed church pews and handcrafted globe lighting.

Whether you slide into a pew or pull up a chair to the extra-long bar, anyplace in the downtown watering hole is the perfect place to enjoy Drexler’s crafted cocktails, which include twists on classics like Negronis, Cobblers and Sours using spices and preserves from the charcuterie and cheese menu. What to try? Opt for the Employee of the Month, a tiki-inspired combo of aged rum, sherry, passion fruit and allspice. If you’re more of a beer fan, take a sip of Drexler’s custom, seasonal beer—a revamped brew based on collaborating partner KelSo Brewery’s popular pilsner.

To soak up all the alcohol, grab a seat at one of the communal tables and chow down on shareable plates piled high with charcuterie, cheese and antipasti.

We all know, when it comes to the East Village, it’s hard to hit up just one bar. So, when that inevitable bar crawl ensues, add Drexler’s into the rotation. The venue also features DJ music and live entertainment—if you need a clincher. For more, click here.
