If you're here in NYC enjoyng the ahem...glorious cold weather...here are a few interesting and fun events where you can hide from the cold, grab a few (to many) drinks and dream about Summer.

 

NYC Winter Lantern Festival

From now until Jan. 6, excluding Monday's and Tuesday's, New York Events and Entertainment brings the 1st annual lantern festival coming to Staten Island this holiday season. NYC Winter Lantern Festival (1000 Richmond Terrace) provides an array of lights ranging from light tunnels to Wonderland, Sea World, Holiday Zone, and more. Cultural performances will be included in the admission such as Water Sleeve Dances, Martial Arts Shows, or a Lion Dance. Tickets range from $15-23 and can be found by clicking the link above.

 

Aquarius 2019 at The Foundry

Aquarius returns to The Foundry in Long Island City on Saturday, January 26th for the second edition of this annual arctic-chic pop-up event highlighting and serving up sustainable seafood and cocktails. The event will feature delicacies of the sea from restaurants like Kellari as well as a bevy of sustainable seafood purveyors and premium wines and liquors. This festival is brought to you by the producers of Secret Summer, Tyler Hollinger of HighLife Productions and Andy Maturana from RAPT NY. Tickets can be purchased for $100.

 

Winter Warmer at Brooklyn Expo Center
Celebrate everything you love about winter in one delicious festival. Join Cannonball Productions on February 2nd at the Brooklyn Expo Center (75 Noble Street) for unlimited spiked drinks, craft beer, & free-flowing bubbly. Top local chefs will be on-site serving up your favorite winter comfort foods - truffle mac n’ cheese, anyone?  The music, games & seasonal comfort foods will bring you that just-off-the-slopes feeling without all the windburn. General admission ticket holders can choose between afternoon and evening sessions at 1:30pm or 5:30pm respectively. General admission includes a commemorative tasting glass for craft beer, spirits and wine tastings. Top local restaurants will be there selling an array of comfort food like chili, grilled cheese, waffles and more. The boozy wonderland will feature games, live music, and plenty of festive antics too.
