So many great places to shop! (©Katie Labovitz)

Brookfield Place is the luxury shopping and dining destination in Battery Park City, the perfect spot to leisurely pamper all of your senses.

What’s great about Brookfield Place is that you don’t have to leave the financial district for great designers and stores to suit anybody’s clothing and accessory needs. For those interested in the latest men’s fashions, there is Bonobos, Ermenegildo Zegna and Kamakura Shirts, among others. Folks who favor women’s clothes can find gorgeous outfits at DVF (Diane von Furstenberg), Tory Burch, Judith & Charles and other establishments. Gucci, Burberry, Hermès, Saks Fifth Ave., Lululemon, Paul Smith, Omega. So many great brands and boutiques that you’ll need a full day to shop.

Shopping is a marathon, not a sprint, so make sure to fuel up throughout your day. For classic Italian-American food, check out Parm on the street level. Right next door, award-winning celebrity chef Jose Garces recently opened his first NYC restaurant, Amada, that features an Andalusian menu. If you’re more of a burger person, head to the second floor to Umami Burger for creative takes on this American favorite.

While malls have foodcourts, Brookfield Place has Le District—an authentic French marketplace on the ground floor where one can enjoy fresh foods and shop for dry goods, produce, meats, cheeses, seafood, flowers, wine and more. In addition to items perfect for picnics or your kitchen, Le District has several restaurants: Beaubourg offers a sophisticated menu to be enjoyed in its expansive outdoor dining area, Le Bar is wonderful for happy hour with colleagues or an intimate evening with a special someone and L’Appart is a cozy chef’s table with a rotating seasonal menu.

Along with shopping and fine dining, Brookfield Place is home to other great amenities. Through July 7, there is an interactive swing/art display. Each swing coincides with an instrument (harp, piano, vibraphone and guitar) and makes a sound when someone is using the swing. North Cove Marina is located at Brookfield Place and hosts various waterfront activities and events. A “LOVE WINS” instillation celebrating Pride will be on display June 18-June 27, while “Air Pressure,” an air-centric kinetic sculptural installation with fabric birds will be up from June 27-Sept. 12.

Located across West St. from One World Observatory, Brookfield Place is convenient to get to via the subway (nearby A, C, E, N, R, 2, 3, 4 and 5 stations) or by car. There is standard and valet parking available as well.
