Squeeze in some more fun before the end of August at The Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy 20th Anniversary of free, public programming in Brooklyn Bridge Park. This summer's lineup includes brand-new Fishing Clinics and new waterfront fitness classes.

The Conservancy is proud to announce the launch of brand-new fishing clinics for kids and adults. The seven-part series will take place at Pier 5’s fishing station until September. Participants can learn how to tie fishing knots, bait a hook, cast a fishing rod, and reel up a fish. Guided by a marine biologist and expert anglers, they will learn the basics of line fishing, while catch-and-releasing some of Brooklyn Bridge Park’s aquatic organisms. The clinics are produced in part by the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, and equipment is provided on-site.

Also new in 2019, The Class by Taryn Toomey will come to Pier 2 Turf. The Class is a music driven practice that exercises the body to engage the mind.  Through physical conditioning, students “work out” mental and emotional behaviors to create new tools for experiencing life.

Dodge YMCA instructors will present several free outdoor fitness classes all summer long, including Sunset Yoga, Salsa classes, Zumba, Hip Hop Dance Aerobics, Pilates and more. Sunrise Yoga will be presented by Abhaya Yoga. The classes offer a scenic waterfront view and are led by top-notch instructors.
